In the meantime here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions we encounter.

Is my hair suitable for hair extensions?

For most people the answer is yes. Hair Extensions are ideal even for those with fine or short hair.

Book a FREE consultation with one of our trained hair extension specialists to confirm which hair extensions are most suitable for you.

Will hair extensions damage my hair?

If all aspects of hair extension fitting, maintenance and removal are undertaken by one of our trained professionals then any possible damage is minimised and may be entirely eliminated.

Much of the damage experienced & publicised is caused at the time of removal either by the client attempting it themselves or by incorrect techniques used by a poor technician.

What aftercare is needed for hair extensions?

For most methods it is necessary to use specialist hair extension shampoo, conditioner and hair extension brush.

Your Mobile Hair Extensions UK technician will advise you on the best products and procedures for your fitting.

How long do hair extensions last?

Depending on your own hair type and the method chosen for fitting your hair extensions can last from 3 months upwards with a top up at 6- 8 weeks. The micro ring fitting can last up to 9 months with regular maintenance.

A lot depends on how carefully you look after your hair extensions, however with the high quality hair we use, the life of your hair extension has the best chance of lasting the longest period of time.

What type of hair should I choose?

The most important thing when choosing human hair extensions is to ensure that it is Remy hair.

The outer layer of hair is made up of overlapping scales that lay in one direction, called cuticles. If the hairs in a bundle get mixed up then cuticles will lay in different directions which results in tangling and matting.

At Mobile Hair Extensions UK we offer a choice of hair types. Your technician will be able to help you choose during your FREE consultation.

Can I colour my hair extensions?

We do not recommend the colouring of hair extensions.

Colouring causes chemical damage and since the hair used on the hair extension has no natural recovery process, it is impossible to know how much more damage it will withstand.

Once beyond its tolerance it will simply mat together into felt-like masses on the head. Removal is then a time consuming and expensive operation.

Will others be able to tell I’m wearing hair extensions?

When fitted skilfully and using the appropriate methods hair extension bonds are unnoticeable.

Our technicians are trained in several methods of fitting so are able to choose the best one for you. Sometimes two methods are used in the same fitting to ensure the best result.

The completed fitting may need some cutting, thinning or feathering of your hair or the extension hair to blend in perfectly. This will be done professionally by your Mobile Hair Extensions UK technician.

Can I swim and play sports with hair extensions?

With good aftercare and the correct fitting method you should be able to swim or take part in sports as often as you wish with no ill effects.

Advise your hair extension technician if you intend to do this and she will help you with procedures and products to safeguard your extensions.
